Tillsonburg Kinsmen bring Bandshell Bash to Turtlefest
June 11, 2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TILLSONBURG, ON – There will be plenty of music in Memorial Park on Saturday, June 15 when the Kinsmen Club of Tillsonburg brings their Bandshell Bash to Turtlefest. This 19+ concert will feature two well-known tribute bands, Practically Hip and Ozone Baby. The fun gets underway at 7:00 p.m., and there will be a variety of food and drink options available throughout the evening.
The first Kinsmen Bandshell Bash took place in 2018, and raised $10,000 to support local causes. The Bandshell itself was built with a $50,000 donation from the Kinsmen, and provides public space to support music and the arts in the community.
“We were approached by the Turtlefest Committee about holding the Kinsmen Bandshell Bash on Turtlefest weekend,” says Tillsonburg Kinsmen Co-Chair, Kevin Buchner. “Right from the start we were excited about the idea of pooling our resources to make both events bigger and better. The Turtlefest committee has been great to work with and their organization has worked tirelessly to make Turtlefest what it is today.”
“We are glad to welcome this dynamic community group to the Turtlefest Memorial Park festivities,” says Rick Cox, Director of Recreation, Culture & Parks with the Town of Tillsonburg and Turtlefest Committee member. “The Kinsmen have contributed greatly to this community for many years and their many committed club members work year-round on events that help meet the community’s greatest needs.”
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online for $20. Food and drinks, including beer, will be available for sale on site at the park. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.ticketscene.ca/events/24240/.
